Stan, the caption on this piece kinda fooled me at first - thought it was going to be a piece on old mecchanical RTTY machines (used to have a complete Model 19 setup with the desk, reperf unit and even the military TU).
Nice surprise though - I remember those old clocks well. My mom & dad has a clock radio with one of them, and my first Elmer has 3 in his shack (one on Eastern, one of GMT and the 3rd on Tokyo time). Brings back some neat old memories . .
